Winter
Winter in Japan is often associated with "snowy landscapes. Snow is a reminder of the change of seasons that heralds the arrival of winter, and it also brings about a "change of scenery" that transforms the landscape. The snow that falls on the ground also hides everything, creating a landscape that evokes a sense of "apology," a beauty that aims for the smallest possible size. This is a uniquely Japanese aesthetic that can be traced back to "minimalism," one of the concepts of contemporary art. Snow absorbs the sounds of its surroundings and brings about a sense of "silence.
