IPA (International Photo Awards) is an international photography competition organized by the Lucie Foundation, based in New York City, and is considered the "Oscars of the photography world" and the parent of TIFA (Tokyo), PX3 (Paris), MIFA (Moscow) and BIFA (Budapest). (The IPA has professional and non-professional categories, each with 95 categories divided into 13 groups, making it a contest unparalleled in terms of "breadth. The entry fee is high and the number of entries is small (10,000 to 20,000), but only the most serious photographs are submitted with the aim of winning a prize. Exhibitions are held in New York, the center of the art market, as well as in other countries, and photo books are published.

IPA（International Photo Awards）は"Lucie Foundation"がニューヨークを拠点として開催している国際写真コンテストで「写真界のアカデミー賞」とも言われています。東京のTIFA（Tokyo International Foto Awards）、パリのPX3、モスクワのMIFA、ブダペストのBIFAの母体でもあります。IPAにはプロとノンプロ部門があり、それぞれ13のグループに分けられた95のカテゴリーがあり「幅広さ」という事では他に類を見ないコンテストです。応募料が高く応募数は1～2万と少ないですが、それだけ本気の写真で入賞を狙う作品だけが応募されます。アート市場の中心であるニューヨークと各国でも展示会が開催され、写真集も出版されます。
